Hello! My name is Tony Schindel. Car culture and specifically Motorsports has been apart of my life for as long I can remember. I remember watching NASCAR Cup cars almost every Sunday, going to local dirt oval tracks several times, playing racing video games and watching TV shows like Top Gear and Overhaulin. All of those experiences sparked a love for anything fast.
2012 was the first time I ever stepped foot onto what became one of most favorite places in the world. August of 2012 I went to my first ever large motorsports event, “Road Race Showcase” featuring the American Le Mans Series at Road America. Four hours of the most exhilarating racing I’ve ever seen. 30+ plus cars on track, several different classes, and the closest ever finish ever in ALMS history. After that day, the young fifteen year old me was hooked.
Fast forward a decade and several attendances to Road America later, I decided to take an old hand-me-down DLSR with me to the IMSA Weekend in 2022. Armed only with a 55-200mm lens and a couple of 4GB SD cards, I was ready for race day. Within the first several captures I took, an awaking happened, a new and different love for Motorsports and Photography. I knew this was it, a new all consuming passion. Ever since that IMSA race day, I haven’t missed a single public weekend event at Road America, and of course with a camera in hand!
